Damn, where can I get me one of those? I'll be back in NZ permanently in a few months so will be car-shopping. Nice to have something a little less subtle than a Darwin fish.
Eh. Just seems that banning someone from a website that depicts lewd sexual acts with animals for blasphemy seems a smidge hypocritical. That's all.
My understanding of this post was that he got banned for posting the picture he posted above. I don't think that's really 'being a dick' to someone. If that is the case, I think the response was overly sensitive. I've seen far more insensitive things posted there. If its an unrelated matter, I have insufficient information to pretend I'm judge of its fairness. Albeit, I have seen some pretty arbitrary decisions there, allowing some pretty mean and hurtful things to stand while relatively benign stuff gets torn down.
Then again, it's a privately hosted free site so it need not really be 'fair'.
Besides. There are more important things we can discuss. I'll be in Portland around the holiday time. Take me to a decent pub and I'll buy you a drink. I moved back to Santa Cruz only to find that the Santa Cruz Brewery was gone. ;-;
Even if we ignore that fact that "science" has also inspired people to do deplorable things (woohoo eugenics), the concepts of "religion" and "science" do not even remotely exist in a mutually exclusive dichotomy.

José Gabriel Funes, the director of the Vatican Observatory, has far more science cred than anyone I've ever met. He is also a (gasp!) Jesuit priest.
The conflict between science and faith is a false one. Feeding it is feeding a lie.
