Hrf, stupid computer hardware. My machine's been locking up recently, and I was pretty sure it was ram. Hmm, ran memtest86, and yup. (3x128MB SDDIMMS) there are errors in the middle DIMM. Grr, pull it out, move the outer dimm over and run it again. No errors,  but since I don't really want only 256MBs of ram (Ie, anything less than 384. If I ever get 512, I don't ever want to go below that either), I figured i'd stick the other one back in in the 3rd slot, and run the tests again 5-6 times, and lo and behold, no errors.
Hmm.
Oh well, *listens to the Rick Emerson show*

Re-ordering the DIMMs is a common way of fixing errors when you have DIMMs with different ratings (e.g. 10ns, 8ns, 7.5ns, 6ns) mixed.
